Nwofor has played six matches for Nigeria so far and he scored three goals. In his first appearance against Republic of South Africa he netted two goals. He also scored a goal in the friendly match against Scotland ahead of World Cup 2014. He played ten minutes in the group stage match against Argentina (2:3) and one minute against France in 1/16 round against France (0:2). In 2011 he won U20 African Cup. In five matches he scored four goals and he became the top goal scorer of the tournament.
After he came to Europe he played for Dutch team VVV Venlo. In 52 matches he scored 13 goals. He also played for Heerenveen, Lierse SK and Boavista FC.
