The last team in the ending table will be descended to lower competition. The team, which will end on the 11th place, will fight to stay in the Fortuna league in a two round match against the second team from the 2nd league. If someone from the best three wins also the Slovakian cup, there is also going to be a match for the last ticket to qualification for the Europa league. In the semifinals of this fight for the ticket, the 4th team will play against the 7th and the 5th team will play against 6th team. Winners will play the final. Matches will be held on the pitch of the better placed team and this clashes will be only one match games.

„The draw of the new edition of our competition was realized on the same principles as it was in the previous seasons. The clubs were given numbers representing their placing from the last season 2016/2017. The only exception were Michalovce. This team asked for the change of their number from 8 to 12, because they wanted to play their first home match in second round due to their reconstruction of the pitch. We used Bergers tables in the reversed order,“ said about the draw of the new season executive director of the Union of the league clubs Michal Mertinyák.

The team led by Martin Ševela will play their first round of this year´s edition of Fortuna league preliminary on 22nd of July on the pitch of FK Senica. One week later we will welcome Dunajská Streda on our stadium. The last 19th round of the league Fall is held on 9th december on our stadium against MŠK Žilina. During Fall there is only one match during a week. In 9th round we will welcom on 19th September a newbies of Fortuna League ( probably Nitra). During Spring we will play 3 more rounds of the basic part. First spring round is planned on 17th of February.

Actual draw of the Fortuna league 2017/2018 is just preliminary. It will be gradually actualised for the specificall dates of the matches. Those will be revealed after an announcement of the plan of live TV streams and after draw of the Europa League and Champions League.
