„This match wasn’t under our control. The guests prepared more goal chances. Let me say, that their win was deserved. Ružomberok’s players were more comfident. The chances, they failed to use for 84 minutes, they made them up in the end and scored two goals,“ admitted after the last whistle captain Peter Kleščík.
In spite of everything, the match was developing well. After an accurate strike from Rangelo Janga the half time result was good for us. The last minutes changed everything. We let those important three points to slip between our fingers. The fight is lost, but the war continues. „The match was special for both teams. There was a lot in stake. However we have our heads up. We have three more matches ahead of us. They are gonna be difficult. If we can manage them right, the match against Ružomberok will faint“ continued optimistic native from Kysuce.
A three week break from league football had its share on the performance of the team led by Marčok – Cifranič. „We can’t make excuses. Particularly in the beginning of the match we weren’t dominant and we acted nervous. We were loosing too many easy balls. Our opponents had a fast players in offense and they were able to get through our defense.“
Fifteen minutes before the end of the match Desley Ubbink went to showers. Two yellow cards in one minute meant expulsion. We couldn’t handle a one man shortage. „It’s hard to say anything about this situation. According to Desley´s words, the referee did not give him any instructions to wait for the whistle. A similar moment happend also on the other side of the pitch and the referee left it unnoticed,“ said Kleščík.
