„I’m getting back to english,“ said with a light smile nowadays the oldest member of the A-team. „I’m meeting a lot of young and talented players. I was afraid, that it’ll take me a long time to memorize their names, but to my surprise it’s going pretty well. I’m getting used to new and interesting trainings led by Ricardo Moniz. They aren’t easy, but they are dynamic and high quality.“
Hrdlička last played in Slovakia in the season 2011/2012, when he wore a jersey of MFK Ružomberok for three years. During those seasons Hrdlička played 66 matches. After that he played two years for the Ukrainian Metalurg Zaparožie, two seasons in Dinamo Tbilisi and the last two seasons in the Polish Ruch Chorzów.
„It seems to me like I was away for 10 years. (laughing) I’m coming back to Slovakia and I’m happy. Very important for me is also that AS Trenčín is the club that showed their interest in me. Today it is one of the top clubs in Slovakia. I have to thank them for their trust, because it’s not easy to get in AS. There is a lot of foreign players and also many talents from our own academy.“
Hrdlička means competition to Igor Šemrinec and to a duo Alexander Morgos and Denis Chudý. „I respect competition. I know, that I came to the team at the end of pre-season. Important is to get back to training process and to bring competition so also Igor will keep his high level. I believe, that my chance will come,“ said Hrdlička, who said some words also about our next oponent in the Europa league: „Górnik is in euforia after their comeback. They won some matches in the beginning, which helped them. They have a Spanish striker Angul. They played very compactly. They don’t have renown names in their team. I do believe, that it will be a close match. Their story kind of reminded me of Leicester City.“
