A-team | Reuben Yem to KAA Gent

Reuben Yem joined the Belgian team KAA Gent. The Nigerian defender came to AS Trenčín in the summer of last year after being in Inter Bratislava for half a year. He immediately joined the A-team. In 2018/2019 he was awarded the trophy for the player of the year in the club poll Stars of AS Trenčín.

Yem grew up in the Nigerian GBS Academy. Kingsley Madu, Moses Simon, Hilary Gong and Samuel Kalu also came from the same football school in the past. It´s interesting that the twenty-one-year-old Nigerian is returning to a club where he played as a teenager. However, he did not stay in Gent at that time, but finally returned there.

He played twenty-four league matches in the past season and eight matches in the UEFA European League.
