In the line up of AS Trenčín on Sunday’s game against ZTS Dubnica appeared an experienced player from Czech Republic Michal Lesák, who should mainly reinforce weak defense and bring experience into young team of Rob McDonald. 32 year old footballer, born in Havlíčkov Brod, grew up in Hradec Králové, played Czech premiership in Bohemians Prague, Baník Ostrava and Marila Přibram. Lesák records 150 premiership games.
„He is a full quality footballer, who can play with both feet, is fast, rough, headers well. Sometimes he lacks concentration and discipline. He can play in midfield, both sides, can attack, has a dangerous shot.“ Is a short description of Lesak’s abilities from a former co player Kamensky at Bohemians, brought by Czech portal iDnes.cz.
Experienced player came to Trenčín from Příbram. „My contract was finished and I wanted to play abroad. I had an opportunity in Kazachstanu, where I went on trial , but finally I decided not to accept their offer. I agreed with my family, it would be much better to play somewhere close to our homeland. That’s the reason why I am here,” says Lesák.
Lesák in the first match for AS played a defensive midfielder. Most of his carrier he played as a defender, his duties were more than clear to him. “I’ve tried many positions, and lately I have been playing as a right back or full back. Defending midfielder I played during my two year stay in Bohemians,“ goes on Lesák, who signed till winter break. “Then I will see. Since time for professional transfers is over, I come as an amateur.”
New member of Trenčin’s squad shares his impressions: “We have many young players, who try hard on the field, but sometimes they lack tactical thinking, bit of responsibility and do not bear in mind that we have to defend as a team. From my side it was far from perfect, but I do believe it will get better and self-confidence will grow. To be honest I did not have much information on Slovakian football, but I was surprised by so many tackles. From Czech league I was used to have more time when passing and also much more space.”
