„Three goals are fine although two of them were from penalty kicks,“ said the smiling author of hat-trick against Šaľa Filip Hlohovský after the game. Especially the second goal reminded of his old shape thanks to which the promising forward became a member of the U21 national team. After Roman Gergel’s action, he found a place in the penalty area and scored with no problems.
The young shooter is going through one of the most difficult periods of his career. He did not play regularly in the spring and his tribulation was evident every time he appeared on the pitch. I was confident I could succeed from the penalty kick. I am practicing penalties a lot. Even a penalty kick goal can help the psychic in a difficult period,“ the 21 years old native of Handlová commented.
It is more than clear to everybody including the player himself that Hlohovský’s current shape is far from his true potential. “I am still not giving enough to my team. I am back on the right track again though. I have to keep on this way. I have to work hard to become even more valuable player,“ the Trenčín #13 said.
Almost everyone around has been helping him to overcome the difficult period. “My teammates, family, and especially the coaches have tried to help. I felt they trusted me and they made me work hard,“ said Hlohovský and added about the victory against Šaľa: “I needed a game like this. The whole team did. I think we played well. Although we missed one player more than a half, we were able to score two more goals and we showed our strength.”
