Clear Victory of Trenčín in Ružomberok

MFK Ružomberok "B" – AS Trenčín 0:4 (0:3).

After AS Trenčín clearly defeated Šaľa two weeks ago, they managed to repeat the same result also against the reserve team of Ružomberok. It was a premiere in the AS jersey for the Paraguayan Jorge Salinas. František Kubík scored twice in his comeback after an injury.

Kubík was a constant threat to the home defense from the beginning. Already after 20 seconds, Depetris pushed the ball onto him, but the shot of the 20-year-old southpaw from inside of the penalty area was not accurate. In the 10th minute, Godál being in a difficult position sent a center from the side line right on Knapp’s head and Trenčín took the lead. In the 19th minute, duo Kubík and Salinas undertook a break resulting in Depetris’s chance, but Smieška batted. Several seconds later, Gergel passed to Depetris and although the home goalie succeeded to bat the shot of the Argentinean again, the ball got to Kubík standing alone just in front of the goal who added second goal of Trenčín. In just another two minutes, the same player scored again when his sharp shot went under the cross bar after Horváth’s assist. One of the few chances of the home team came in the 26th minute, but Greššák was not able to push the ball into the goal after a standard situation.

The offensive efforts of the reserve of MFK were not effective and Trenčín controlled the game in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Salinas sent a vertical to Godál, the right defender centered, but Horváth’s volley missed the desired target. In the 87th minute, Valla carved the ball for Depetris. The best striker of AS dribbled through two home defenders and his left-foot shot to the far corner of the goal set the final result of the game.
