One Point from Liptov; Another Volešák’s Shutout

MFK Tatran AOS Liptovský Mikuláš - AS Trenčín 0:0.

Trenčín wanted the three-game winning streak in the league to continue also in Liptovský Mikuláš. Unfortunately, the team did not succeed in this and records just one point for a goalless draw. The series of Volešák’s shutouts goes on however and that is positive.

The home team had two standard situations in the opening phase of the game. Neither Kandera nor Škuta were however able to make use of them. In the 7th minute, Kubík showed a nice action. He dribbled through the home defense, got into the penalty area, but wasn’t able to keep balance in the key moment. The most creative player of the home team was Bella. In the 22nd minute, his center found Škuta, but Volešák saved. After half-hour, Knapp sent a good pass to Kubík, but the young player did not shoot immediately and the home defense stopped him. The biggest chance of the match came at the end of the first half. Šupej’s attempt after another center of Bella was reflexively saved by Volešák. The ball however only got to the uncovered Chovanec. Fortunately for AS, the home forward being in a difficult position was unable to score.

Trenčín started more actively in the second half. Mainly Salinas took initiative. First, his shot after Godál’s pass was blocked by the home defense. Right afterwards, the young South-American shot again, but this time the home goalkeeper saved. So he did when Knapp shot several minutes later. Godál started the biggest chance of Trenčín in the 54th minute. He passed perfectly to Salinas who centered on Kubík, but standing in a good position he missed the ball. In the 58th minute, Depetris’s header after Horváth’s center went wide. In the 83rd minute, Bezák tried a volley after Bella’s corner kick, but it went over the cross bar.
