Salinas Excels in Spring Premiere

Zemplín Michalovce - AS Trenčín 0:3 (0:2).

Trenčín started the spring part of the first league impressively. The spectators at the renewed stadium in Michalovce saw a convenient victory of the away team that declassed the ambitious rival.

The man of the first ten minutes was clearly Jorge Salinas. Already in the 2nd minute, the Paraguayan got an excellent pass from Hlohovský, handled the ball in the penalty area, passed by the goalkeeper and conveniently opened the score. Four minutes later on, the 17-year-old youngster scored again getting the ball after a short throw-in and making it 2:0 by a technical shot from about 20 meters. The shocking start perfectly surprised the home team that was quite unable to respond by the end of the first half. To the contrary, the away team had two more promising chances by Kubík and Horváth.

Salinas showed an interesting move also at the beginning of the second half. His straightforward penetration into the penalty area was stopped after a contact with one of the home defenders. Salinas fell, but the referee didn’t whistle a penalty kick. In the 57th minute, Kubík shot from the penalty area line, but the home goalkeeper saved. Immediately after, Horváth served a football delicacy sending an excellent ball to Kubík. The young left-footer didn’t have problems to direct the ball into the net from about the penalty kick point. At the end, the home Sninský had two interesting opportunities, but Volešák proved that he belongs to the best keepers in the league which was duplicated by another save after a chance by Záhradník.
