The lot of the third round of the Slovak Cup (Slovnaft Cup) 2011/2012 took place in the headquarters of Slovak Football Association (SFZ) in Bratislava on Friday. The last season's winner Slovan Bratislava is the most probable rival of AS Trenčín. This phase of the cup is a one-leg match with penalty shootout following immediately after tied 90 minutes. The games of the third round take place on Tuesday, September 27 and Wednesday, September 28.

The currrent Slovak champion is still to play its second round's game against the third-league Pezinok (September 21). In case of the expected win of Slovan, the game of the third round will take place in Trenčín. If Pezinok makes it to the next round, AS Trenčín will travel to their stadium.
