Talented defender Boris Godal disappeared from the line up for a couple of days. Inflamed muscles around shinbone did not allow him to play. Thus, he had to reject invitation to U21 national team, which went for a camp to Turkey. Returning from a camp in Holland that he partly spent only in the gym, Boris started to train fully again. “I had a chance to join U21 line up before an important qualifying round, but it does not bother me that much. For U21 I can play one more year and if my position in the club is solid, I believe coaches of U21 will invite me again,” said Boris Godal.
20-year-old nurseling of Trencin, came to AS as a central defender and played this position until Rob McDonald’s arrival. “He preferred to put me as a defending midfielder. Truth is that I feel much better as a central defender. I played this position for a few years and have much better view of what is going on. I can conduct player mates much more. Anyway, it’s always up to coach’s decision where I finally play. I am here to put my 100% into it,” says player of AS.
Boris will miss first spring duel due to yellow cards. Csaba Horvath and Peter Klescik will reinforce central part of defence. “It is true we talk about competition in the team. However, it is just a matter of team and mainly coaches. Matches will reveal who are the best ones,” adds Godal.
Team will fight for a shift upwards from bottom of the chart. The only and main target is to move at least one position up and improve our bad reputation. Stay in the premiership is a phrase you can hear the most amongst our players. “We know our situation and I don’t want to hide that this phrase is taboo. It is our main goal. It is a matter of first couple of games, whether we can make it,” sums up Godal.
