The duel against the league novice from Zlaté Moravce didn’t stop the unpleasant series of defeats consisting of eight matches now after we lost 0-2 (0-1). Trenčín haven’t won 11 games in a row and our deficit in the last position in the table is six points after Senec beat Slovan.

The opening part of this “six-point” match brought rather nervousness and fight than a spectacular show. Sluijter’s first attempt in the 26th minute went wide. The home team’s first attempt by Pelegríni came in the 34th minute but Rožník was ready. Immediately after, Depetris was in a good position but he missed as well. The home took the lead on 39 minutes after Ondrejka’s corner kick. After Trenčín’s defensive mix-ups, the ball got to Ujlaky whose goal was wonderful – 1-0. In the 42nd minute, Greguška’s severe shot just missed the target. In the end of the first half, Ujlaky’s hard free kick was stopped by the guests’ keeper and Tóth running into the penalty area didn’t succeed to push the deflected ball through.

Right after the side exchange, the same player rushed alone to Rožník, but missed the target in a good position. In the 66th minute, Trenčín’s captain Csaba Horváth was sent off for a second yellow card. The guests didn’t give up and on 73 minutes, Depetris found himself in a good chance but his well-aimed attempt was just pushed out by Brezina to a corner kick. In the 88th minute, Minarčík advanced at Číž, but he only hit the side net. At the close, Rožník trying to stop the shot by the sub Choma bated the ball into his own net – 2-0.
