The entry of Dutch owners into the structures of AS Trenčín has invoked interest not only in Slovakia but also in their home country. And it is not just the public and media who are monitoring the happening in the club. The activities of Tschen La Ling, Henk ter Braack, and Evert Kroon have also been noted by strong business and industrial spheres.
The Netherlands Chamber of Commere is an organization associating business subjects active in Slovakia and having direct, financial or personal, connections to the Netherlands. Its goal is making connections among these firms. It functions also as a marketing tool for particular companies trying to get established in Slovakia. Its members regularly meet at business cocktail parties, professional seminars, and various kinds of lectures and speeches. Their most recent meeting took place with an active participation of AS Trenčín representatives. The patronage over this event was taken by the Dutch ambassador who is a big fan of football.
One of the owners of the club, Tschen La Ling, was attracting the main attention in the pleasant surrounding of the venue Archa in Bratislava. He was discussing with his countrymen not only about his rich career as a player and unquestionable business successes but first of all about his latest activities in Slovakia. He informed the attendants about his ambitious football plans. “Football is not just a sport phenomenon. It is nowadays a huge business as well. Our top priority in AS Trenčín is to integrate these two areas into one compact entity,” explained his philosophy the former player of Oranjes.
Club’s general manager Róbert Rybníček, commercial director Ron de Bot, and marketing manager Igor Schlesinger also participated in the meeting the dominating topic of which was definitely football. It was the first meeting with members of this important institution connecting businessmen from the country of windmills for the representatives of AS Trenčín. Besides establishing of commercial ties, it had a deeper social dimension. “I am really glad that we could participate in this successful event. I will be happy to take part in the events of the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce whenever in the future,” summarized his impressions of the business cocktail party Tschen La Ling.
