In the second retaliation match of the third qualifying round Europa League we drew with Romanian team Astra Giurgiu 2:2 (0:0). After the home loss (1:3), we farewell with Europe Cup. At the end of the game Gino Van Kessel with the goal to 2:1 carved glimmer of hope for an extension, but opponent draw very soon and finally decided.
After a cautious beginning of the meeting was as a first of the two goalkeepers presented Volesak. Klescik in fact blocked opponent shot very unfortunately so our captain had to push it out from corner of the crossbar. The match was played mostly in midfield and neither of the teams did not have a real chance for long time. In the middle of the first half we showed that defense of Giurgiu is impassable. However we did not finish this action into a successful end. With minutes growing we were often at the opponent's penalty area. Bero’s promising shot from penalty area blocked opponent defense. At the end of the first half fired from twenty five meters Klescik, but Lunga was ready and catch the ball. In added time has come direct kick of Junior Moraisa and fortunately flew right next to the pole.
In the second half we were the first to threaten. Into the Cogley center placed Adi, but his header was heading outside of goal. William tried it from behind of penalty area but he sent the ball just over the goal. In 57th.minute got in to the ending two players of Astra. Heading of Ivanovski ended in gloves of Volesak and cross shot of William Amorim did not aim into the goal. Holubek shot was also interesting from behind of penalty area. However flew over the goal. In 75th.minute Stefanik complain at opponent's hand lying in the penalty area, but the referee did not recognized objection. In 83rd.minute Adi jumped on Holubek’s corner kick and scored. A few minutes later from sixteen meters aimed Ivanovski and draw. In 88th.minute released Van Kessel and with his premiere goal in jersey of AS Trencin carve sparkle of hope of advance. Unfortunately one minute later was this hope gone by drawing goal of Tembo.
