One-goal advantage before the second leg vs Ljubljana

Team led by coach Martin Sevela won in the first leg of 2nd qualifying round of Champions League on the pitch of Olimpija Ljubljana 4:3 (4:2). Our goals were scored by James Lawrence, Samuel Kalu, Rangelo Janga, and Jakub Holubek. Even though we were leading with 4-goal difference, we take very valuable victory.

Already in the 2nd minute Rabiu penetrated into the box but his shot finished in the hands of goalkeeper. Few seconds later Janga found Lawrence, who opened the score of the game – 1:0. In the 6th minute, Lawrence passed the ball to Kalu and Nigerian youngster doubled our lead – 2:0. We managed to hit again within a while. Holubek sent the ball to the box and Janga had no troubles to net – 3:0. We kept on controlling the game. After 30 minutes of the game we scored our fourth after Holubek orientated in front of goalkeeper – 4:0. The home team responded very fast. Two minutes later they scored their first after mix up in our defense – 1:4. Two minutes to half-time Zajc took a free-kick from 18 metres and beat Semrinec – 2:4.

In the beginning of the second half Ljubljana caused danger to Semrinec and then we also endangered our opponent with two corner kicks. Janco was close to scoring goal but his shot finished over the bar. In 72nd minute, Janga had good opportunity after great pass by Rabiu but his shot was deflected. When it seemed that nothing could happen, a shot deflected by our defender finished in the net of Semrinec – 3:4.
